Goodness Gracious

We're going home this morning! Grace is back to health. Enough said.

Nearly There

Bilirubin #'s down again to 10.6 last night. Off all therapy lights now and trying to ween her off the IV. ...hopefully by 4:00 today.

Getting There

Grace's bilirubin count dropped to 13.5 as of the midnight blood draw. Yea! That meant they could pull away one bank of the therapy lights. The noon test will tell us if the count continues to drop -- or if it goes back up, requiring the lights to be put back.

She still needs to eat more though so we can get her off the IV.

Good News...Sorta

Grace graduated to the Intermediate Care because her numbers improved. But they then backtracked with the next blood draw to 15.7 (from 15.3). We hope the lab results due in the next 15 minutes are better. As it is, we're not getting out of here when we hoped.

You know in Apollo 13 when all non-life support functions were shut down? That's momma and papa. Deeply exhausted and ready for this to be over.

Good News

Grace's bilirubin #'s are down again as of the midnight blood draw. Doctor says she can nurse again. Not sure who's happier-Grace or her momma.

After a long night in which Grace's bilirubins were going up (bad!) and a blood transfusion looked imminent, the 9:00 a.m. blood test showed the numbers dropping (good!). We're emotionally exhausted but happy Grace appears to be out of the woods for now.
